FINALLY...Cub Scouts

Today was an exciting one for Sam. It was the much anticipated, long awaited, first day of cub scouts. Sam has wanted to have a shirt with patches, like his brothers, for years. Well the big day came. He loved it and his den leaders are pretty cool too. They used to be his primary teachers and Terrell plays Minecraft (that is very important to Sam and he tried to spend significant effort today trying to get me to play). You can see Sam doesn't have the full uniform and the shirt is pretty big. I'm determined he will not grow out of that so I don't have to do another shirt with patches until he turns 11.

Speaking of shirts with patches...Dan will head to his first boy scout 8 day encampment this weekend. I'm heading to the scout office tomorrow as I decided last minute that his shirt should be larger and I should get all his patches on. More on that in a future post. It will be very strange not having Dan around for an entire full week!

So exciting! I think it is awesome that Sam's leaders are good. I think that can make or break the whole experience.

did you know the scout office will sell you adhesive for your patches? it is basically double sided peel and stick in the shape of each patch. No sewing or even ironing required! What a great world we live in!

Yeah, without Dan here for a week, who is going to yank my chain every 10 minutes?

Wow. This should be really good for Sam. Hope he earns lots of patches in the future. :) Sounds like his big brother is a great role model with the activities he chooses. Hope Dan has fun at camp.

What a great time for Sam! I'm glad he was excited about it. Bet Dan will have lots to talk about when he comes home.

I've been meaning to ask you about cub scouts. They took a break for the Summer didn't they? That is neat that he got to go. Was it this Wednesday? Glad it went well and Liam is terribly excited for Cub scouts too :o) Now I have no excuse...I have to figure all the scouting stuff out!

Sam, Congratulations! I am so proud of you. This is so exciting, I just got home from a weekend with some Venture Scouts at Drummond Island (camping, fishing, ATV riding, jet skis and snorkeling). Too much fun. I am so happy for the boys. What a great opportunity for both of them!
